The municipality of Libramont-Chevigny in the centre of Belgian Luxembourg is the largest municipality in the province. This municipality is also the crossroads of rural and economic life, with the Libramont Fair every summer.<\/p>\n

The Celtic Museum<\/strong>
The aim of the museum is to make known the still little-known world of the Celts and the Gauls. Through its collections and exhibitions, it invites you to discover jewellery, crockery, weapons, horse-drawn carriage ornaments and many other everyday objects. It also invites you to put an end to prejudices, explaining, for example, that the Celts did not eat wild boar<\/strong> (it was sacred!).
For the youngest visitors, the museum has prepared an original visit thanks to the family visit<\/strong> game book! The Celtic Pedagogical Walk<\/h4>\n

This sympathetic <\/span>short walk<\/b> is a pleasant proposition for <\/span>families<\/b>. The starting point is close to the commercial centre of Libramont, in the forest park of Bonance (rue de Bonance). The route is marked out with <\/span>5 playful and didactic panels.<\/b> At each of these stops, the young Celtic child Eira and her friend the squirrel Kadoc are the guides.They suggest you observe the surrounding nature and explain to you the amazing means by which the Celts exploited their environment.The Celtic educational walk consists of <\/span>two loops<\/b>. The original route of <\/span>1.3 km<\/b> can be extended to a longer route of <\/span>3 km on easily accessible forest roads<\/b>.The altitude difference is small and the paths are wide. Nearby there is a <\/span>picnic area<\/b> and a <\/span>playground<\/b> to complete the activity.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Libramont-Chevigny, the Celtic”.<\/strong>
Every two years, this event specially dedicated to the Celts is programmed and gathers the partners of the collective “Libramont-Chevigny, la Celte”. Samonios, at the origins of Halloween<\/h4>\n

The Ardennes have not always been Christian and not all our rituals are derived from Christianity. And contrary to what one might think, the origin of the Halloween festival does not come from America but from Europe via the Celts. <\/span>At the time, this feast was called “Samonios”…\u00a0<\/span>
In memory of this centuries-old feast, a <\/span>fairytale walk<\/b> is organised every year on <\/span>31 October<\/b> in one of the villages of Libramont-Chevigny.<\/span><\/p>\n

Libramont-Chevigny linked to Marie Howet whose former house is the seat of the tourist office, is a source of inspiration for artists. The local flavours will delight you! To meet local producers who open their doors by appointment, follow the gastronomic circuit “La For\u00eat des D\u00e9lices – Saveurs en terre celte”. The favourite walk of the Tourist Office<\/h4>\n

The “<\/span>Promenade de la Briqueterie” is a beautiful long walk of 6.3km which is particularly appreciated in summer (walking map “Libramont-Chevigny”). This walk is close to the Cultural and Commercial Centre of Libramont and will lead you to a change of environment in the middle of the forest. A pleasant adventure in which you quickly get carried away by the singing of the birds and who knows, by the tracks of the game on the ground! It is also the most accessible walk for families with young children.
