Audioguided tour

Founded in the seventh century by Plectrude, and rebuilt in 1729, the abbey now houses cultural and craft exhibitions and meeting rooms. Don’t miss the courtyard filled with lime trees behind the abbey church. The church’s Flamboyant Gothic apse was built between 1526 and 1564, and its Baroque facade was built later, between 1700 and 1702. The oldest part of the building is the Norman crypt, dating from 1064. Inside the church are stalls dedicated to St Benedict and St Hubert, a shrine donated by King Leopold I of the Belgians, and an altar dedicated to St Hubert. In addition to the guided tour of the crypt, the bell-tower and the bells, groups can also visit the basilica church with audio-guides to learn about its history as a place of pilgrimage to the relics of St Hubert, patron saint of hunters.
